HOT IN THE CITY: BRAVE WINGS FASHION SHOW

On Saturday, July 29th the valley’s elite fashionistas gathered in support of the Brave Wings Fashion Show which benefitted the Arizona Apparel Foundation. The fifth annual event was hosted at the newly renovated FABRIC building located in Tempe. FABRIC itself is also a non-profit organization and has emerged in the valley as a unique resource. This space hosts classes, has a comprehensive resource library, equipment, service and consulting for start-ups and, as in this case, is a venue for hosting fashion related events.

This event was focused on making a difference through fashion and in the process was able to showcase many up and coming local designers. Brave Wings co-Founder, Mabel Cortez said. “We are proud to host our event at FABRIC and to support the Arizona Apparel Foundation (AAF) which is a non-profit that is making strides locally to elevate the visibility of emerging designers and brands as they work to start, grow and thrive in this tough industry.”

This fashion show not only unites the fashion community in the valley but it also makes a difference through fashion by selecting a local charity. “Our goal is to unite our resources to make a difference through fashion in our local communities by giving back to those in need, if we can brighten someone’s life through our hard work we are already winners” said Brave Wings co-Founder, Jenesis Laforcarde.

The event continues to grow thanks to the overwhelming support that is pouring in from throughout the valley. The 2017 event included media support by Tyler Butler of 11Eleven Consulting and Giving in Style and also had live and recorded feeds that gave everyone an inside peek into this annual offering. “As a member of the Phoenix Fashion Week Style Council I know how important events like this are in highlighting the local design talent we have here in Arizona. It is only by joining forces that we will be able to continue to grow our states influence and opportunities,” said Butler.
