ELEGANCE IN GIVING: BCBGMAXAZRIA

As an avid supporter of philanthropic based retailers I often find myself shopping at locals that aid the communities where they operate. The philosophy that it is just as important to look good as it is to feel good about where the items you are wearing were acquired from. Now it is worth noting that BCBG is my favorite brand. And whether it’s the luxe Max Azria side or the more accessible Generation pieces, I welcome all of it in to my closet.

It gives me additional joy that this mega brand is also concerned with making the world a better place. Just a few years back BCBGMAXAZRIA, in partnership with charitable foundation, Fashion Delivers, donated almost 9,000 items to US charities that empower women. During the campaign they called “Be Chic by Giving” they were able to set aside a match. After selling 8,778 items, BCBG donated one item of clothing to charity for each of these purchases.

The charity recipients included Women in Need in New York, Shelter Partnership in Los Angeles, Caring for Others in Atlanta, Connections in Evanston, Ill., and Women on the Rise in Montreal. Canada is releasing numbers separately.
